In the early days Chris always said he could see himself working on the 993 more than any other Porsche – which slowly has proven itself to be true.

With the aftermarket offerings of damper never quite hitting the mark for clients who are using their 993 for roadwork ‘or GT use’, it was decided upon to make it our mission to reinvigorate the market and give our clients something modern and durable whilst also harking back to the compliant feel of the original Monroe dampers that rolled off the factory line.

We are very lucky that our long standing relationship with Bilstein has meant we have worked closely with the technical team to produce both a B6 for standard ride height damping and a B8 for lowered cars tailored for this mode of use in mind. After very thorough testing of hundreds of multi-disciplinary miles from a couple of our 993 clients who have gone through various iterations we have opened up supplying and fitting to nearly 15 cars already with great feedback.

“Having looked into the variety of suspension options available for the Porsche 993 Carrera with Center Gravity’s assistance, I am very happy with my decision to opt for the CGGT package. In combination with a steering rack rebuild it has given the car excellent B-road capabilities while retaining very reasonable ride comfort in all circumstances, as well as remaining very safe and stable under braking. The car always feels very composed whatever the road throws at it. Although it’s not the main purpose of the suspension, I suspect it would also perform well on track days without any of the compromises a purely track-oriented setup would entail. While I don’t have a brand new 993 to compare, I suspect this suspension is rather better than the car left the factory with and seems very likely to be more durable than the standard setup.
